For 10 years, FourthCanvas has worked with good people to build great brands. As the stakes rise, we are being entrusted with not just the brand foundations but with the full experiences of how they come to life.
We are looking for an experienced Product Designer who cares deeply about the work, the people, and the reason we do what we do. This is how we imagine that person:
- A little more than basic decency. You are not only being polite, you are genuinely thoughtful and considerate of others.
- Creative courage. You do not wait for precedence to make a direction feel valid. You are able to lead a direction no one has followed before, without hiding behind what is already familiar.
- Eye for detail. You sweat the small stuff because you know design rises or falls on the tiny details. You catch what others miss, and you care enough to fix it.
- Documentation. You communicate thoughtfully and document clearly, not as a formality to get through, but because you understand how much clarity helps teams move faster and build better.
- Growing, insatiable taste. You read widely, consume knowledge in volume, and keep seeking out better work, better references, and better ways to think — never settling, never satisfied.
- Disciplined work-rate. You know strong product design is not just about polish. It takes patience, iteration, judgement, and the willingness to keep refining until it beats anything previously experienced.
- Respect for the perspective of others. You agree that great product design needs more than great product designers, but also the input of other people seeing things differently.
- Cross-functional fluency. You have enough understanding of UI engineering and adjacent disciplines to collaborate well, review work intelligently, and hand over with the clarity that aids implementation.
Role & Responsibilities
This is not a role for someone who only wants to make screens look clean. Because for us, a product needs to do more than ‘work’. It needs to be better than anything previously experienced.
This role is primarily about leading design on our digital product projects, turning product strategy into experiences that feel clear, thoughtful, and alive in use.
This will include:
- Working with the product manager, design director and other team members to turn product thinking into clear user experience and interface direction.
- Leading product design explorations from early thinking to refined resolution, including user flows, wireframes, interaction concepts, prototyping, interface development, and refinement.
- Designing digital experiences that make sense in the real world, from information architecture and navigation to interface systems, interaction patterns, and responsive behaviour.
- Presenting work clearly and confidently, helping clients and stakeholders understand what they are seeing, why it matters, and how it serves both user and business goals.
- Working closely with the Project Manager to keep momentum strong and the project on track.
- Supporting junior designers and collaborating with peers through coaching, review, delegation, and shared problem-solving to keep the team’s standard of work high.
- Maintaining a high standard across execution, file organisation, documentation, handoff, and system thinking.
- Contributing to the improvement of FourthCanvas’ digital touchpoints when off client work.
Applying for this role
- The application begins with your basic details, then moves into four questions that help us understand how you think, followed by a prompt to share your portfolio.
- We will prioritise applications submitted on or before Friday, April 10, 2026.
- At some point in the process, we may ask for contact details from previous employers or clients for background checks.
