How much do you Care?

We’re looking for someone who meets hard work with deep care, needs no formal title to lead, and never stops to ask why.

Good businesses don’t become great brands by a stroke of fate. It takes intention and discipline. Often, it takes a lot of help from people who care. For 10 years, we’ve tried to be just that.

Walking and working with good people, we help turn ambition into great work that transforms brands. It has been fulfilling, yes. But also humbling. Because the further you go, the more you realize how much more is possible.

That’s why we need you.

Why join FourthCanvas?

A lot has changed since November 2015. But the things that matter most have not: leadership that cares and exceptional people who show up fully for the work, and for one another. That kind of steadiness has made us the first call for many of Nigeria’s leading organizations, especially tech startups defining the future.

Now the stakes are getting even higher. The market is asking better questions. Founders are getting the memo that good is no longer enough. We sense a greater opportunity to shape what African businesses can become.

At FourthCanvas, you will help define this future. You will do consequential work that helps you grow not only in craft, but in leadership, judgement, and range.

The values that define us

Care — with intention

We pour our hearts into everything we do. But even more, we pay attention. To what people need, and to what the moment requires. To the little things that let the people we work with and the people we work for know that we are fully present with them, and for them.

Lead — with Care

For us, leadership is not a position. It is a way of showing up. It is in the discipline to protect our focus, do what needs to be done, the steadiness to move the work forward. We lead in how we carry ourselves, how we collaborate, and how we set the tone for others by example.

Stretch — because you Care

Good is not enough — not for the work, not for the people counting on it, and certainly not for the kind of future we are trying to help build. So we push what we know, what we think and what we can do. Because we care to see what sits on the other side of our current best, and what that could unlock for the people, dreams, and possibilities attached to it.

We’re looking for something.
For someone.

We are not trying to fill a role. We are looking for someone who truly Cares, about the work, the people and the reason we do what we do. Here’s what this looks like on a random late Tuesday afternoon:

  • A little more than basic decency. You put in effort to be kind and respectful in every situation, treating others with grace even under pressure.

  • Respect for the brilliance of others. You thrive in collaboration because you've seen firsthand the magic that comes from respecting perspectives most unlike your own.

  • Eye for detail. You sweat the small stuff because you know quality often depends on the things most people overlook.

  • Intentional leadership. You communicate thoughtfully and document clearly, not as a chore to tolerate, but as a tool you value for alignment and shared growth.

  • Growing, insatiable taste. You are always seeking out better work, better references, and better ways to think. Always exploring with intent — never settling, never satisfied.

  • Disciplined work-rate. You are willing to give the work the time, focus, and discipline it needs. You understand that excellence is not luck, and your consistency helps raise the bar for others.

Senior Brand Designer
JOB DESCRIPTION

We need you to lead the visual identity component of our client branding projects, translating strategy into world-class identity systems with deep Care and inspiring leadership.

  • Work with the guidance of the Project Director and brand strategists to translate the client’s vision into clear creative direction, expressed by mood-boards or similar tools.

  • Lead creative sprints and exercises: brainstorming, territory exploration, rapid prototyping, sketch exploration, refinement, and more.

  • Develop and refine visual identity assets and systems (logo/wordmark, typography, colour, layout, iconography, image/illustration direction, etc.) that people can actually use and build upon over time.

  • Prepare and present work confidently and clearly — guiding stakeholders through choices, trade-offs, and the thinking behind the work.

  • Work day-to-day with the Project Manager to stay on track with deadlines and the overall timeline.

  • Mentor junior designers and collaborate with peers: delegating, coaching, and reviewing ongoing work to keep standards consistently high.

  • Ensure attention to detail and consistency, across execution, file management, documentation and client handover.

  • When off client work, contribute to the agency’s brand needs: proposals, case studies, marketing assets, and website/social templates that improve our own outlook.

Applying for this role

  • The link below opens up a form that begins with the basics (name, email, etc), followed by 4 questions that provide some context about you. The form ends with a prompt to attach your portfolio.

  • We will prioritize applications that are submitted on or before Friday April 10, 2026.

  • At some point during the application process, we may request the contact details of your previous employer(s) or client(s) to conduct background checks.

  • We won’t be able to provide detailed feedback to applicants who don’t progress beyond the first screening. However, we will provide useful feedback to everyone who reaches the interview stage.
